Dialogue on Visa Liberalization to Start in 3 Days
The European Commission's Vice President Margaritis Schinas will visit Yerevan on Monday to initiate dialogue on visa liberalization between the EU and Armenia, according to a statement released by the European Commission.
Simultaneously, it was noted that Armenia must implement reforms in key areas such as border security, migration, and the respect for fundamental rights and freedoms related to travel.
Drawing on the EU's experience with other countries, such negotiations are expected to last several years. In July, EU foreign ministers agreed to begin discussions on the liberalization of the visa regime with Armenia.
