Azerbaijan's Ruling Party Secures Majority in Parliamentary Snap Elections
Representatives of Azerbaijan's ruling party, "Yeni Azerbaijan" (New Azerbaijan), are securing a majority in the 7th convocation of parliament, based on the results of snap elections held on Sunday. These results stem from an exit poll conducted by the American consulting group Oracle following the snap parliamentary elections held on September 1 in Azerbaijan.
The Oracle consulting group announced the results of its exit poll at a press conference on Sunday evening, indicating that representatives of the ruling party won in 63 out of 125 electoral districts. Also entering the new parliament is independent candidate Polad Bulbuloglu, who currently holds the position of Azerbaijan's ambassador to the Russian Federation.
Oracle conducted the exit poll at 875 polling stations. The parliamentary elections concluded at 19:00.
