Samvel Karapetyan Addresses Robert Kocharyan with a Message
Samvel Karapetyan, the founder of the Tashir Group, has congratulated the first President of Artsakh and the second President of the Republic of Armenia, Robert Kocharyan, on the occasion of his birthday.
"Today, this congratulation carries a special political significance. The political repressive process against Robert Kocharyan has long gone beyond the framework of a legal dispute. The president, who during his state activities stood at the forefront of the protection of the security and statehood of Armenia and Artsakh, today is deprived of his freedom and subjected to political persecution.
We may have different political views, assessments, and even disagreements. At the same time, in a legal and democratic state, political competition should not turn into political vendetta. The future of Armenia cannot be built on the basis of persecutions and imprisonments of political opponents or dissenters. An internal political policy of hatred, revenge, and division cannot create any additional value, while the challenges facing Armenia demand the exact opposite.
I wish Robert Kocharyan and his family health, strength, and resilience to overcome this difficulty as well," the message reads.
