117 Convicted Individuals Granted Conditional Early Release, Says Minister Surbuhie Galyan

Today, I would like to share some important numerical data and results recorded in the penitentiary sector during the first half of 2026, which are key indicators for us to continue the reforms in a faster, more effective, and consistent manner. This was stated by the Minister of Justice Surbuhie Galyan.

“We have a number of positive indicators in the direction of resocialization. 117 convicted individuals have been granted conditional early release, compared to 75 in the same period last year. The number of decisions made to ease security zone conditions has reached 47, up from 39 last year. A total of 33 decisions have been made to ease security zones, compared to 18 during the same period last year. Additionally, 101 facilities have been renovated, compared to 83 in the same timeframe last year,” she wrote.
