David Tonoyan to be Released on Bail
The former Minister of Defense of Armenia, David Tonoyan, is set to be released on bail after the terms of his detention have been changed. He will be freed on a bail amount of 15 million dram. His lawyer, Albert Bengulyan, shared this information in an interview with 24News.
It is noteworthy that on September 30, 2021, the National Security Service announced that David Tonoyan and arms supplier David Galstyan were arrested on suspicion of committing particularly large-scale theft. On the same day, both Tonoyan and Galstyan were detained.
Charges have also been brought against former Chief of the General Staff Artak Davtyan, former Deputy Chief of Staff Stepan Galstyan, Head of the Aviation Technical Assets Service of the Ministry of Defense Artem Hambaryan, and Chief Engineer of the Aviation Division Vladimir Babayan in connection with this case.
