Haik Martirosyan Wins Silver Medal by Defeating Azerbaijani Opponent
Armenian chess player Haik Martirosyan's team has also won a bronze medal. The "Chessy" team, featuring leading Armenian chess player Haik Martirosyan, has become the bronze medalist of the World Lightning Chess Team Championship. This was reported by the Chess Federation of Armenia.
The team included Richard Rapport, Alexey Sarana, Haik Martirosyan, Vidit Santosh Gujrathi, Jorden van Foreest, Erdoğmuş Yağız Kağan, Anna Muzychuk, Hampi Koneru, and Mukhtar Ainakul.
Alongside the team achievement, Haik secured a medal in the individual competition as well. Competing on board three, the Armenian chess player finished in second place. During the championship, Haik defeated Azerbaijan's top chess player Shakhriyar Mamedyarov with a score of 2:0.
