The Security Situation at the Border is Highly Concerning: CSTO Secretary General
The security situation at the border of Eastern Europe is highly concerning. This was stated by the Secretary General of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO), Imangali Tasmagambetov, during a meeting of the organization's Parliamentary Assembly Council.
“The geopolitical situation in the world continues to undergo profound transformations. The potential for conflict is increasing in several regions directly adjacent to the CSTO's area of responsibility,” said the organization's Secretary General.
He noted that the internal political processes in the Middle East, particularly in Afghanistan, remain complicated. Tasmagambetov also added, “There are also tangible risks remaining in the South Caucasus.”
