Video: Arsen Babayan Releases Footage of Police Brutality Against Ashot Harutyunyan

The former Deputy Minister of Agriculture, Ashot Harutyunyan, remains in custody. Lawyer Arsen Babayan has released a video showing how police applied brute force against Harutyunyan.

“The video clearly illustrates how everything began. Citizens are standing calmly, conducting a peaceful gathering. In the frame is Ashot Harutyunyan, who stands with his back to the police, and suddenly, out of nowhere, violence erupts, and brute force is criminally applied against Mr. Harutyunyan. The reason for this police brutality is indicated by the arrows appearing in the video, pointing to orders from the police chief,” Babayan wrote alongside the footage.

Ashot Harutyunyan has been arrested on suspicion of using violence against police officers and thereby participating in mass unrest.
