The Church Has Unused Spaces That Could Be Useful to the State: MP from the Civil Contract Party
The Armenian Apostolic Church possesses a number of different spaces, including unused ones, that could be utilized for various state needs. This was stated today by Arthur Hovhannisyan, the secretary of the parliamentary faction of the Civil Contract Party, during a briefing at the National Assembly.
According to him, the Church should cooperate with the state and support efforts to bring financial resources out of the shadows.
“Christianity is about not stealing, not corrupting, and not operating in the shadows. In our understanding, the Church should be guided by this logic and avoid creating a situation where corrupt manifestations could emerge,” said Hovhannisyan.
He emphasized that, naturally, the Armenian Apostolic Church has a special status in Armenia. However, considering the democratic and tax system changes in the Republic and the establishment of state institutions, all financial resources circulating in Armenia must be brought out of the shadows.
