"I Have Never Been an Employee of the Soros Foundation": Constitutional Court Judge Candidate
The candidate for the Constitutional Court judge, Davit Khachatryan, has addressed his previous involvement as a member of the board of directors of the Open Society Foundations in 2006. He stated that he was never an employee of the foundation, saying, "This was purely a public activity, and we only received a symbolic amount as reimbursement, around $100 a month."
He further elaborated on why he agreed to be nominated for the position of Constitutional Court judge after being elected as a member of the Judicial Council six months ago. "The transition of Arayik Tunyan (the former Constitutional Court judge) to another position came as a surprise; I have dedicated my professional life to studying the practice of human rights courts."
