Zangezur Corridor Could Be Operational by 2028-2029, Turkish Official
The Zangezur corridor could be operational by 2028-2029, according to Turkey's Minister of Transport and Infrastructure, Abdulkadir Uraloglu. In a statement made during a broadcast on TGRT Haber, he mentioned that a decision regarding whether the corridor will pass through Armenia or Iran will be made in the near future.
“This is a project that will directly connect us with the Turkic world. There is already a line in Nakhichevan (railway – ed.). In the first phase, it will be modernized, and then it will be reconstructed. Contracts have already been announced; however, if we start today, it will take about 5 years,” he said.
