Henrikh Mkhitaryan Draws International Attention to Detainees in Azerbaijan
Henrikh Mkhitaryan, midfielder for Milan's Inter and former captain of the Armenian national football team, has raised awareness regarding the extension of the detention terms of Nagorno-Karabakh political leaders held in Azerbaijan. He shared this news on his Instagram page.
Mkhitaryan had joined his compatriots last September, demanding the release of the Nagorno-Karabakh political leadership and other captured individuals currently held in Azerbaijan.
Azerbaijan has extended the detention terms by five more months for several figures, including the second President of Nagorno-Karabakh, Arkadi Ghukasian, the third President Bako Sahakyan, the fourth President Arayik Harutyunyan, Nagorno-Karabakh's Minister of Foreign Affairs David Babayan, former Artsakh Defense Army commander and lieutenant general Levon Mnatsakanyan, and the President of the National Assembly of Nagorno-Karabakh David Ishkhanian, who are currently being held illegally in Baku.
