Central Bank Responds to Statement on Transfers from Azerbaijan to Armenia
The Central Bank of Armenia has responded to the statement made by Garniq Danielyan, a member of the "Armenia" parliamentary faction, claiming that transfers from Azerbaijan to Armenia have occurred.
In response to an inquiry from Armenpress, the Central Bank stated: "In response to media reports regarding transfers from Azerbaijan to Armenia, we would like to inform that the Central Bank of the Republic of Armenia publishes statistics on transfers received from abroad by individuals through Armenian banks and on transfers made by individuals from Armenia to abroad, categorized by the 50 main countries. The list of these countries does not include Azerbaijan, as either there are no transfers or they do not constitute a significant volume to warrant inclusion in the list."
Earlier, in a conversation with reporters, Garnik Danielyan had claimed that large volumes of transfers had indeed come from Azerbaijan to Armenia.
