Investigative Committee Warns Participants of Demonstrations
In recent days, numerous cases of actions that are seemingly prohibited by the criminal law have been recorded during protests held in various regions of the Republic by separate political circles, specifically by the "Tavush for Homeland" initiative and its participants, with the involvement of some supporters. Criminal proceedings have been initiated, and criminal charges have been filed against more than ten individuals. This was announced by the Investigative Committee of the Republic of Armenia.
Considering this circumstance, as well as the public statements and actions aimed at continuing the protests, the Investigative Committee of Armenia finds it necessary to warn that within the framework of its jurisdiction, it will use all lawful measures available to ensure a swift and strict criminal legal response to any criminal manifestations in the republic.
The organizers and participants of the demonstrations are expected to fully comply with the requirements of the legislation on the freedom of assembly, maintaining lawful and responsible behavior. Any criminal act will unreservedly lead to criminal liability.
