Archbishop Bagrat Responds to Videos of His Participation
The Archbishop of the Tavush Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church, Bagrat Galstanyan, has responded to the dissemination of videos featuring his participation and the criticism from opposition figures. Earlier, videos, photos, and excerpts from his speeches began circulating online, in which he expresses sympathy for the previous leadership of Armenia and states that they were 'a few heads taller than the present attendees.'
Furthermore, he emphasizes that the selection of leaders for the country is a personal matter for him, and the public should not be concerned about 'who he wants to bring to power.'
The archbishop was also indirectly accused of having ties to the Mormon movement. In a conversation with journalists before the start of a march, the archbishop noted that he also possesses photos and videos of the people behind those publications, including images with the head of government and others.
“I am embarrassed to publish those photographs and conversations; I will not stoop to that level,” said Galstanyan.
The archbishop also criticized those filming the 'Tavush for the Homeland' march with drones, stating that they do so to mock the small turnout of the action and those who, despite poor weather, continue to pursue their goal.
He stressed that the march is of significant importance, as it aims to reveal the truth. “We strictly adhere to the timeline. No one can mislead us. Everything that needs to be announced will be revealed at the appointed time. We have a clear plan and objective,” concluded the archbishop.
At this moment, representatives of the 'Tavush for the Homeland' movement, led by Bagrat Galstanyan, are continuing their march from the village of Solak to Yerevan, where they will be present on May 9.
