Russia's Ministry of Foreign Affairs Comments on Nuclear Weapons Exercises
The upcoming exercises testing the use of non-strategic nuclear weapons should be viewed in the context of recent militaristic statements by Western officials and destabilizing actions by NATO, the Russian Foreign Ministry stated, commenting on the planned nuclear drills in the country.
In connection with Russia's forthcoming exercises aimed at developing skills for the use of non-strategic nuclear weapons, we note that this event must be understood within the framework of recent hawkish declarations by Western officials and sharply destabilizing actions by several NATO countries, which are directed at exerting military pressure on the Russian Federation and creating additional threats to our country's security related to the conflict in Ukraine and its surroundings,” the ministry's statement published on its website reads.
