Israeli Operation in Rafah to Begin Soon, Says Palestinian President
The Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas believes that the Israeli military operation in the city of Rafah, located in the southern part of the Gaza Strip, will commence in the coming days.
“In a few days, Israel will begin a military operation in the city of Rafah, as all remaining Palestinians have gathered there. One hit will be enough to force them all to leave Palestinian territory,” the Palestinian president stated.
According to Abbas, if this occurs, “the world will witness the greatest catastrophe in the history of Palestine,” considering that neighboring Arab countries, Egypt and Jordan, have “decidedly refused to accept Palestinian refugees.”
At the end of his speech, Abbas appealed to the United States as “the only country that can stop Israel by exerting influence on the Jewish state and forcing it to abandon its plans for an operation in Rafah.”
