There is no such risk related to the President of Russia: Armenian Ambassador to the EU
Today, there is no such risk related to the President of Russia. This was stated by the Armenian Ambassador to the EU, Tigran Balayan, in an interview with The Moscow Times, in response to the question of whether Armenia's ratification of the Rome Statute means that if President Putin visits Armenia, he will be arrested.
“What compelled Armenia to unfreeze the ratification process of the Rome Statute? Precisely the fact that Russia's guarantees concerning our sovereign borders have not been effective. We consider the International Criminal Court as one of the preventive guarantees against new aggression by Azerbaijan towards Armenia. Moreover, we expect that the war crimes committed by the occupying Azerbaijani forces in the territory of Armenia will be investigated, and the perpetrators will be punished by the court's decision,” the ambassador noted.
