Russia Has Never Threatened NATO: Shoigu
Russia has no plans to attack the countries of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) and has never had such intentions. This statement was made by Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu.
“The Russian Federation has never threatened NATO. We have neither geopolitical nor military interests in attacking the countries of the alliance. We are simply defending our people in our historical territories,” Shoigu said during a meeting of defense ministers of member states of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) in Astana.
He emphasized that Russia has always made “the greatest efforts to maintain strategic stability and the balance of forces in the world.”
