Son Stabs Father, Who Later Dies in Hospital

On April 19 at 21:45, the police of the National Security Service received a report from a hospital that a 62-year-old man, Nerses A., from Tumanyan Street in the village of Geghakert, had been admitted with stab wounds.

Preliminary investigative actions revealed that around 21:00, a domestic dispute occurred between the 62-year-old man and his 38-year-old son, during which the son stabbed his father with a kitchen knife.

At 23:45, a second report was received by the operational management center in Armavir, stating that Nerses A. had died without regaining consciousness.

As a result of operational measures taken by the police department in Vagharshapat, the 38-year-old son was found and arrested after midnight on April 20 in the village of Hovtamej and taken to the department, where he confessed to the crime. He and the related documents have been submitted to the investigative department of Vagharshapat.

A criminal case has been initiated, and the knife used in the crime has been found. Circumstances are under investigation.
