Grossi Admits Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant Was Close to Nuclear Incident, Bloomberg
The Director General of the IAEA, Rafael Grossi, has stated that the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant was close to a nuclear incident due to an attack by a drone, according to Bloomberg.
"Every time such situations arise, we are close to a nuclear accident, so this is not an artificial or imaginary scenario," he said. Grossi emphasized that he plans to raise this issue at a meeting of the UN Security Council.
He noted that he discussed the medium-term plan, the future, and what could happen at the Zaporizhzhia power plant with Russian leader Vladimir Putin.
Today at noon, a Ukrainian drone was shot down above the Zaporizhzhia power plant and fell onto the roof of the sixth power unit.
