NATO Must Change the Dynamics of Aid to Ukraine: Stoltenberg
NATO must "change the dynamics of aid provided to Ukraine," announced Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg at the start of a meeting of NATO foreign ministers today in Brussels.
"We need to ensure long-term reliable and predictable support for Ukraine in the security domain. This will allow us to primarily rely on NATO's long-standing commitments rather than voluntary donations or short-term promises," Stoltenberg stated.
The alliance members will discuss the establishment of a direct long-term support fund for Ukraine amounting to approximately 100 million euros over the next two days.
According to NATO sources close to Reuters, “The existence of such a mechanism could safeguard the aid provided to Ukraine from unwanted consequences of a possible Donald Trump victory in the U.S. presidential elections.”
