Investigation Launched into Armed Robbery at Post Office in Yerevan
The National Police of Armenia has reported that today an armed individual wearing a mask stormed into the "HayPost" branch no. 0039 located at 7 Bagratuniants Street, demanding all the money present while threatening the employees with a weapon.
In connection with the apparent robbery at the "HayPost" branch, a criminal investigation has been initiated. This was communicated to Aysor.am by the spokesperson for the Investigative Committee, Gor Abrahamyan.
According to him, the investigation was launched based on the characteristics defined in Article 252, Part 2, Clause 5 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Armenia (robbery committed with the use of a weapon or an item designed or adapted for inflicting bodily harm) and Article 335, Part 1 (illegal circulation of weapons and ammunition).
“At this moment, the investigator is conducting necessary and urgent investigative actions at the scene,” the spokesperson reported. Abrahamyan also mentioned that further information regarding the preliminary data will be provided later.
It was previously reported that on April 3, an armed robbery occurred in Yerevan involving individuals wearing masks.
