Belarus Prepares for War, Says Lukashenko
Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko has stated that Belarus is preparing for war but does not wish to engage in one. This information was conveyed by RIA Novosti.
"Do not believe anyone who says we want to go to war. We are preparing for war, I say this honestly. 'If you want peace, prepare for war'—this is not my invention, but it is very true," Lukashenko said.
According to him, necessary preparations for the relevant units are underway in the country, with troops receiving various types of weapons and equipment.
"If someone from there (unfriendly countries) roars at us and criticizes us, know that we are doing the right thing. If they start praising us, that is misfortune," the Belarusian leader added.
Lukashenko emphasized that Minsk does not threaten anyone.
"We do not need to threaten anyone. We do not seek foreign lands. God willing, let us cultivate our own land," he remarked.
