Armenia Becomes Geopolitical Bargaining Chip, Says Karasin
“Russia is paying close attention to all of Armenia's statements,” said Grigory Karasin, chairman of the Russian Federation Council's Committee on International Relations. In an interview with Lenta.ru, he commented on Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan's statements regarding partnerships with the United States and the European Union.
“I believe that Armenia is becoming a geopolitical bargaining chip in the broad sense of the term, particularly in the context of confrontation with the United States and the West. This is very dangerous and can, by the way, cause specific harm not only to the ties between Yerevan and Moscow but also to Armenia's influence and prospects in regional and global affairs. Failing to understand this is a very dangerous delusion,” Karasin stated in the interview.
