German Foreign Minister Strongly Speaks Out on Putin and War with Russia
German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock believes that Russia is seeking to draw NATO countries into the Ukrainian conflict. Her remarks were quoted by the German newspaper Tagesspiegel.
“Putin’s goal has been and remains to destroy Ukraine’s existence as an independent, free country and to embroil NATO in war,” she asserted. She added that should Russia triumph, Europe’s security and international order would allegedly be placed "under threat."
Meanwhile, Russian President Vladimir Putin has dismissed claims that Russia intends to wage war against NATO as nonsensical. Additionally, the chairman of NATO's military committee, Admiral Rob Bauer, emphasized that Russia is not planning to attack NATO countries. However, Bauer also stated that Russia's interests supposedly extend beyond Ukraine's borders, and that NATO must be “better prepared.”
