What is the Focus of Armenia's Cooperation in the Defense Sector? Prime Minister Pashinyan Responds
Armenia's cooperation with partners in the defense sector is not directed against any country. This was stated by Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan in an interview with the Greek newspaper Ekathimerini.
He emphasized that the development of the country’s defense capabilities is aimed at protecting Armenia’s independence, sovereignty, territorial integrity, and maintaining its borders. In this context, he highlighted the Armenian-Greek cooperation.
“There is a long-standing tradition of cooperation in the defense sector. In December of last year, an agreement on military-technical cooperation was signed between the two governments, which involves the exchange of experiences, knowledge, and the development of joint projects. Many Armenian cadets have the opportunity to study in Greek educational institutions. These are just a few of the points of cooperation in this sector, and currently, exercises are being held regularly. Despite the excellent cooperation in the defense sector, there is great potential for further development. In the near future, we hope that cooperation in this direction will expand,” Pashinyan said.
“I must emphasize that Armenia's cooperation with partners in the defense sector is not directed against any country. The development of Armenia’s defense capabilities is aimed at protecting the country’s independence, sovereignty, territorial integrity, and the protection of its borders,” the Prime Minister noted.
