Russia's Foreign Ministry Promises to Respond to Slovenia's Actions
The Russian side is preparing to respond to the expulsion of a staff member from its embassy in Slovenia. This was reported by RIA Novosti, citing the Russian Foreign Ministry.
“We will respond,” commented the Foreign Ministry on the incident. On March 21, Slovenia declared a member of the Russian diplomatic mission in the country as a persona non grata.
Previously, in Moldova, Russian Ambassador Oleg Vasnetsov was notified that one of the diplomatic mission's staff had also been declared persona non grata. This diplomat is expected to leave Moldovan territory soon.
The Moldovan Ministry of Foreign Affairs summoned Vasnetsov due to voting in the presidential elections in the breakaway region of Transnistria, which is “contrary to the position of the Moldovan authorities.”
Maria Zakharova, the official spokesperson of the Russian Foreign Ministry, stated that Chișinău's unfriendly actions, including the expulsion of the Russian diplomat, would not go unanswered.
