South Ossetia and Abkhazia Are Part of Georgia: Stoltenberg
NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg has reiterated support for Georgia's territorial integrity. This statement came during a joint press conference with Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili.
“We fully support Georgia's sovereignty and territorial integrity. South Ossetia and Abkhazia are part of Georgia. NATO continues to call on Russia to annul the recognition of Georgian territories as independent states,” he stated.
Stoltenberg pointed out the illegality of elections held by Russia in the occupied regions of Georgia and Ukraine, adding that presidential elections in Russia have been “neither free nor fair.” The NATO Secretary General emphasized that Georgia is one of the alliance's closest partners and is currently facing “serious security challenges.”
