More than 40 Countries Demand International Investigation into Navalny's Death
More than 40 countries have called for an international investigation into the death of Alexei Navalny. This was announced today in Geneva by EU representative Lotte Knudsen, according to Bild.
“We are outraged by the death of Russian opposition politician Alexei Navalny, for which President Putin and the Russian authorities bear primary responsibility,” she said. “Russia must allow for an independent and transparent international investigation into the circumstances of his sudden death,” she added.
A total of 43 countries joined the statement, including all 27 EU countries, as well as the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, and Ukraine.
