Palestinian Prime Minister Resigns
The Prime Minister of the Palestinian National Authority, Mohammad Shtayyeh, has officially submitted his government’s resignation to President Mahmoud Abbas.
“I have submitted the resignation of the government to President Mahmoud Abbas on February 20, 2024, and today I am presenting it in writing,” he stated.
The Prime Minister explained that “this decision comes in light of political, security, and economic developments related to the unprecedented escalation of aggression against the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, including the city of Jerusalem.”
It is noteworthy that Mohammad Shtayyeh has been the Prime Minister of the Palestinian National Authority since 2019.
