Russia is Not a Reliable or Conscientious Ally or Partner, US on Yerevan's Actions
The US State Department has responded to a query from the Armenian service of Voice of America regarding Prime Minister Pashinyan's recent statements about Armenia's membership in the CSTO and measures taken by Yerevan in the defense sector. The State Department stated: "We respect Armenia’s desire as an independent country to continue its chosen security relations, and we support the sovereignty and territorial integrity of all countries in the region."
Addressing the existing issues in Armenia's relations with Moscow, the US foreign affairs agency noted: "Russia is not a reliable or conscientious ally or partner in the South Caucasus or elsewhere. We have repeatedly seen that Russia is not concerned with Armenia's interests."
It is worth mentioning that earlier, in an interview with France 24, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan declared that Armenia's membership in the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) is currently "frozen."
