France Agrees to Deliver Defense Equipment, Says Macron
“I have visited Central Asia and I want to see the communication links between Central Asia, the South Caucasus, and the European Union develop,” French President Emmanuel Macron stated during a joint press conference with Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan in Paris today.
“I welcome your contribution to this common ambition through your peace intersection initiative. We will subsequently also discuss issues aimed at strengthening bilateral cooperation. We will continue to support the development of infrastructure in Armenia with the participation of our enterprises. We will also continue our cooperation in the defense sector. France has agreed to deliver defense equipment. France will continue its responsibilities in this area, wishing to avoid any escalation. France also continues its humanitarian commitment in support of Armenian and Nagorno-Karabakh refugees, providing 29 million euros in aid for 2023. France will also continue to support the development of EU-Armenia relations. Here, too, we are recording progress in favor of sovereignty and resilience. The EU monitoring mission is now strengthened,” he said.
