Artsakh National Assembly Will Function: Tovmasyan
To keep the topic of Artsakh warm, we need to have a strong Armenia and a strong diaspora; today, this trinity is very important. This was stated by former Speaker of the Artsakh National Assembly Arthur Tovmasyan during a conversation with journalists in front of the Artsakh representation in Armenia, marking the 36th anniversary of the Artsakh movement.
"We have two paths: one is patriotism, and the other is the current realities. I believe we should be guided by the current realities to avoid harming our compatriots in Armenia and Artsakh," Tovmasyan said.
According to him, the National Assembly of the Republic of Artsakh will function. "The National Assembly will function; even if we do not adopt laws, there will be decisions and statements," he noted.
Referring to the return of Artsakh Armenians to Artsakh, Tovmasyan stated that international guarantees are needed for this, as there are security issues. "Artsakh Armenians cannot return as citizens of Azerbaijan; that is impossible," he declared.
