Photos: Purebred Dog Discovered in Waste at Recycling Plant in Russia
A purebred Yorkshire Terrier has been found in the waste at a recycling plant in the Obukhovo district of St. Petersburg. The dog was spotted just one minute before the grinding process began, saving it from being turned into minced meat.
As noted by the plant employees, the driver noticed some movement in the pile of waste. They were quite surprised when a very dirty, yet clearly purebred dog crawled out of the trash heap, as reported by the Telegram channel “Mash on the Moika.”
Interestingly, the dog, which is naturally quite delicate, managed to survive six compressions of waste. It even had no fractures. Although the dog is not young, it is clearly domesticated and well-cared for, showing no fear of humans. The company staff bathed it and fed it.
The dog's rescuers are considering two options for its future. The first is to return it to its original owners, though there is suspicion that these owners may have thrown the elderly dog in the dumpster themselves. The second option is for the plant employees to find a new home for the dog.
