Unusual Cough Starts Among Children and Teachers: School Director Provides Details

Today, students of Franz Werfel Secondary School in the Musaler community of Armavir province have been evacuated as many of them and teachers have started experiencing an unusual cough. Naira Svaryan, the school director, informed Tert.am about the situation.

The cause of the cough is currently unknown, and representatives of the law enforcement agencies present at the scene are also unable to determine it. Svaryan assured that the reason is not carbon monoxide.

“I also went to that building, and I started coughing too, but I didn’t smell anything. Gas inspectors have come and checked, and the possibility of carbon monoxide is ruled out because the boiler house is 7 meters away from the school,” she elaborated.

The director also reported that a few children were taken to the community health post, one of whom has a respiratory issue. “We called an ambulance from the health post, and four children have been transferred to the hospital, while one child, who has bronchial asthma, was taken to Muratsan hospital,” said Svaryan.
