Azerbaijan's Response to Alen Simonyan's Statements Today
The Milli Majlis of Azerbaijan has commented on the statements made today by the President of the National Assembly of Armenia, Alen Simonyan. According to the Azerbaijani APA agency, the Azerbaijani parliament's statement emphasizes that Alen Simonyan, by "distorting the realities occurring in the region, has expressed opinions that are far from the truth." It is noted that in this way, the Armenian leadership is allegedly "trying to attract the attention of its foreign sponsors."
Azerbaijan also claims that Simonyan is attempting to "erase the fact that Azerbaijan's internationally recognized territories have been occupied by Armenia for 30 years, and under the guise of looking towards the future, to remove this dark point in Armenian history from the international agenda."
