NSS Employees Did Not Enter Central Municipal Office: Kostanyan Provides Details
Employees of the National Security Service (NSS) did not enter the Central Municipal Office and did not interrogate the head of the administrative district. This was stated by Haik Kostanyan, the press secretary of the Yerevan Mayor, in an interview with Sputnik Armenia.
“In connection with the case of abuses related to the organization of communal services, the head of the administrative district has been invited to the Anti-Corruption Committee to answer certain questions,” Kostanyan clarified.
He emphasized that the head of the administrative district has no status in this case. “Mr. Ghukasian said he was invited, he appeared, and certain questions were posed, to which he responded. No arrest was made, nor did the NSS enter the building,” Kostanyan added.
It is noteworthy that on November 13, the RA Anti-Corruption Committee announced that two officials of the Central administrative district had been arrested for taking bribes. T. M., holding the position of head of the communal services and management bodies of multi-apartment buildings in the Central administrative district of Yerevan, along with employee A. H., received a total of around 1 million 700 thousand drams in bribes from various individuals with premeditated agreement.
Charges have been filed against the officials under the relevant articles of the RA Criminal Code for receiving bribes and abusing their official position.
Recall that information circulated in the media recently indicated that the head of the Central district, Samvel Ghukasian, had been interrogated by the NSS.
