The Procedure for Granting Pensions to Those Forcefully Displaced from Artsakh Has Been Approved
The National Assembly approved a package of bills amending the RA laws on "State Pensions" and "State Benefits" during an extraordinary session. The package was adopted unanimously with 87 votes in favor, 0 against, and 0 abstentions.
These amendments established the specifics for receiving pensions and benefits for those forcefully displaced from Artsakh, as well as the calculation procedures. According to the amendment, for obtaining pensions and benefits in RA, the working experience and military service in Artsakh will be taken into account.
If a person's pension age was reached after the displacement on September 19, they can apply to the relevant social territorial centers operating in Armenia. Like Armenian citizens, they will go through the same procedures and will receive a pension.
Pensions and benefits for the months of October and November will be provided to those forcefully displaced from Artsakh in December. Of the 101,000 individuals displaced from Artsakh, about 15,000 are pensioners who will continue to receive pensions in Armenia once their identification process is completed.
