Al-Shifa Hospital in Gaza No Longer Functions as a Hospital

The World Health Organization (WHO) has managed to establish contact with Al-Shifa Hospital. The facility has been subjected to bombings in recent days. WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus stated that the hospital is no longer operational.

“Three days without electricity, without water, and with poor internet... Continuous shelling and explosions in the area are further exacerbating an already critical situation. Unfortunately, the number of deaths has significantly increased. Tragically, the hospital no longer functions as a hospital. The world cannot remain silent while hospitals, which should be safe havens, are turning into scenes of death, destruction, and despair. Stop the fire. Now,” wrote Mr. Ghebreyesus on social media platform X.
