Georgia's Constitutional Court Approves Impeachment Petition Against President
The Constitutional Court of Georgia has ruled that President Salome Zurabishvili violated the country's Constitution. This was reported by ekhokavkaza.com.
The constitutional petition for the president's impeachment was upheld by six members of the Constitutional Court, while three voted against it. Now, the parliament must discuss and vote on the issue of impeachment within two weeks.
The impeachment decision requires the support of at least 100 members of parliament. Considering that nearly all opposition members have promised to vote against it, it is presumed that the ruling party will not be able to remove Zurabishvili from office.
