Happy Birthday, Dear City: Tigran Avinyan Congratulates Yerevan on its 2805th Anniversary
Yerevan is not only the beloved city of its residents but also of all those who consider Yerevan a part of themselves. The newly elected mayor of Yerevan, Tigran Avinyan, has sent a congratulatory message on the occasion of the city's 2805th anniversary.
"As both a resident of Yerevan and its newly elected mayor, I will serve and continue to serve Yerevan and its people, because for me, Yerevan is primarily the people," Avinyan wrote.
He emphasized that Yerevan should be a city for people, with green parks, well-kept yards, and accessible amenities. It is worth noting that since 2020, events dedicated to “Erebuni-Yerevan” have not been held due to both the 2020 war and the subsequent military actions.
In the 2021 budget of Yerevan, financial resources originally allocated for “Erebuni-Yerevan” were redirected to support the “100 Houses in Artsakh” program and to programs aimed at the development of Yerevan's cultural institutions.
