Fake 'Trial' and Complete Disregard for Norms Occur in Baku: Armenian Foreign Ministry
A fake 'trial' is taking place in Baku, alongside a complete disregard for all norms concerning the illegal abduction of a 68-year-old civilian from Nagorno-Karabakh, who was transported to Armenia for heart surgery under the protection of the ICRC, just weeks before ethnic cleansing in Nagorno-Karabakh. This was stated by the spokesperson for the Armenian Foreign Ministry on his Twitter account.
“The illegal abduction, which is a gross violation of human rights, is now accompanied by the release of videos and photographs showcasing the suffering of the 68-year-old civilian. At the request of numerous international human rights organizations and institutions, the hostages, including military personnel and civilians currently held in Baku, must be released,” he wrote.
It is worth noting that today a preliminary hearing took place at the Yasamal District Court in Baku regarding the case of Vagif Khachatryan, a resident of Nagorno-Karabakh who was illegally abducted by Azerbaijani border guards while attempting to cross into the Republic of Armenia through the Lachin corridor. State prosecutor Mugades Sultanov requested that the case be referred to court without changing the preventive measure against the defendant. The trial is scheduled for October 17.
Recall that Vagif Khachatryan has been charged with fabricated accusations of supposedly committing 'genocide' in the village of Meshali in the Khojaly district.
