Zakharova on the Activities of Russian Peacekeepers in Artsakh
Maria Zakharova, spokesperson for the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, stated at a briefing that the activities of Russian peacekeepers in Artsakh will be adjusted in light of recent events.
She noted that the conditions have changed, especially following the clashes of September 19-20, against the backdrop of mass emigration of the population. “The peacekeepers have already closed several stationary and temporary observation points. Moscow will discuss fundamental issues related to Artsakh with Baku. The Prime Minister of Armenia recognized the region as Azerbaijani territory in Prague and confirmed his stance at the Brussels summits.
Regarding a possible tripartite meeting of the foreign ministers, Moscow will announce the timing of the meeting as soon as it is clear.”
