Tigran Avinyan and Artak Zeynalyan Signed a Memorandum
The Yerevan City Council factions of the "Civil Contract" and "Republic" parties signed a memorandum, taking into account the results of the Yerevan City Council elections held on September 17. This was announced during a press conference by the newly elected Mayor of Yerevan, Tigran Avinyan. Notably, Artak Zeynalyan, the mayoral candidate from the "Republic" party, was also present at the press conference.
“We consider the sovereignty, democracy, and security of the Republic of Armenia as supreme values, and aiming to transform Yerevan into a European model, a city that is comfortable and accessible for people, we decided to implement the electoral programs of the "Civil Contract" and "Republic" parties and begin cooperation for the development of the capital city of Armenia and the welfare of its residents,” Avinyan stated.
When asked what the signing of this memorandum entails, Avinyan responded that the factions of the Yerevan City Council from "Civil Contract" and "Republic" will jointly manage Yerevan. This means that appointments in the executive body will be made in agreement.
It should be noted that the Yerevan City Council elected Tigran Avinyan, the candidate from the "Civil Contract" party, as the Mayor of Yerevan.
