Family of Non-Military Official Killed in March to Receive Compensation
The family of a non-military official killed in March will now receive compensation from the corresponding fund. Today, the Permanent Commission on Defense and Security of the National Assembly of Armenia proposed amendments and changes to the law on "Compensation for Damage Caused to the Life or Health of Military Personnel During Service in the Republic of Armenia."
According to the accompanying reporter, Deputy Minister of Defense Arman Sargsyan, the adoption of the draft is related to providing compensation for the damage caused to the life of a non-serving individual appointed to a vacant military position who was killed during the military actions unleashed by Azerbaijan on September 13-14, 2022.
Until now, non-military individuals who carried out technical work within the Armenian Armed Forces but were killed during military operations were not included in the list of beneficiaries of the fund, and their families did not benefit from the compensation procedures.
From now on, with the legislative change, families of these individuals have been included in the list of beneficiaries of the fund. The commission voted in favor of these legislative changes, and the draft has been sent for approval at the National Assembly's plenary session.
