Aliyev: 'The Rights and Security of the Armenian Population of Karabakh Will Be Protected'
Azerbaijan will 'ensure' the rights of the Armenian population in Karabakh. This was stated by Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev during his visit to the occupied territories of Artsakh, particularly in Kovsakan.
“We officially declare that the rights and security of the Armenian population of Karabakh will be protected. We have already presented our vision for reintegration to the Armenian community of Karabakh, which includes respect for their religious, educational, cultural, municipal, and other rights, as reflected in international conventions that Azerbaijan has signed in accordance with its Constitution and international obligations,” said Aliyev.
Aliyev also announced plans to settle around 5,500 Azerbaijanis in Artsakh by the end of this year. According to Azerbaijani media, he noted that so far, 2,300 Azerbaijanis have settled in the territories occupied by Azerbaijan, and by the end of this year, that number will reach 5,500.
It is noteworthy that as of 12 PM today, 91,448 individuals have forcibly displaced from Artsakh to Armenia, and currently, that number has reached around 93,000.
