Upper Lars Checkpoint to Operate Under Limited Regime Until August 26
The Emergency Situations Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Armenia reports that highways within the territory of Armenia are passable.
Since June 1, traffic restrictions have been in place on the Alaverdi-Sanahin-Sarahart road section due to ongoing renovation works.
Regarding Lars, based on information received from the Department of Emergency Situations of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia and the crisis management center of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia in North Ossetia, the Stepantsminda-Lars highway is open for all types of vehicles. However, from August 17 to 26, the Upper Lars checkpoint will operate under a limited regime due to the planned reconstruction of the checkpoint.
At the Upper Lars checkpoint, asphalt works will be carried out on the roads leading from Russia to Georgia for 12 passenger vehicles followed by 8 freight vehicles.
