Toghrul Tovmasyan Alerts International Partners About Famine Death in Artsakh
In connection with the famine death in Artsakh, MP Toghrul Tovmasyan has raised an alarm with international partners.
“A resident of Artsakh, K. Hovhannisyan, born in 1983, who has been blockaded for more than 8 months, died from chronic malnutrition and protein-energy deficiency, according to forensic medical evaluation.
The humanitarian disaster caused by the complete blockade of Artsakh by Azerbaijan poses a serious threat to the lives of hundreds of thousands of Armenians living in their homeland.
Azerbaijan is pursuing ethnic cleansing and genocidal policies in Artsakh, the consequences of which are brutally borne by the civilian population. I am preparing urgent letters to all embassies accredited in the Republic of Armenia and international humanitarian organizations, alerting them about this incident and demanding preventive measures to save the lives of 120,000 people and restore the violated international humanitarian law by Azerbaijan,” she stated.
