Impersonating a Woman Living in Stepanakert to Demand Money: Artsakh Police
The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Artsakh has issued a warning regarding an Instagram account named "Meeting in Stepanakert," where the user presents themselves as a woman supposedly living in Stepanakert. This individual has been making contact with residents of Artsakh, gaining their trust through conversation, and then resorting to blackmail to demand money. If victims refuse to pay, the account owner threatens to share photos of the residents on the same account.
This has been described as a type of cybercrime or computer offense that requires caution. Therefore, the department urges vigilance to avoid such and other threats. It is crucial not to share personal information or photos in the online realm. In the event of encountering such a situation, individuals are encouraged to report it immediately to the police.
